Heritage railway carriage restoration

Our company was commissioned by the Budapest Public Transport Authority to authentically restore 100 year old public transport vehicles and carriages that entered into service in the 19^th and early 20^th centuries. We were delighted to undertake such restoration projects as the authentic restoration of rolling stock required considerable amount of historical and visual archival research since many of the original blueprints and documents were inaccessible.

Professional joinery played the greatest role in these works and all wooden frames, casings, seats and other wood accessories were recreated by our joinery unit on the basis of documentation created by our carpenters. We had to recreate brass decorating accessories with no samples to comply with, which required great attention to detail.
